NU Campus Building Progress

Northrise University is steadily developing the 550 hectares donated by the Zambian government. A student dormitory has been built and can house 56 students. And currently, the campus building for the faculty of business is under construction.

Presently, the Business School building is beyond roof level. The construction is progressing at a fast pace. Best of all, the contractor is dedicated and working as unto the Lord. The building will house two computer labs and six classrooms. Each room will accommodate 40 students, and the total student capacity for the building is 300. Two large tutorial rooms have been included in the building plan. This will offer a spacious environment for more students to attend tutorials. The building will host lectures in Information Technology, Business Administration, Marketing, etc, and hence, all business lectures will gradually move from the Caravelle House building, where lectures are currently hosted. The building is also set to include the necessary amenities such a building should have. These include a lounge, restrooms, and a reception area.

The Business building is set to be completed by the end of March 2010 and should be up and running the following month. With hard work, continued support from individuals and the blessing of God, the dream is slowly but surely becoming a reality.

The student dormitory caters for the housing needs of students who come from out of town. With your support, Northrise Australia Initiative student sponsor program will allow the University to fund new student dormitories, in order that the student can effectively live and study well. Even if students reside locally, most do not have the home environment suitable for serious tertiary study. And furthermore, the dietary needs of the students will be provided through Northrise Farms projects.

Once fully operational, Northrise Farms will provide chicken, beef and fruit for Northrise University as well as supply the local market of Ndola with the produce. The farm has successfully realized its first chickens and banana fruit. For more information on this, click Farm projects.

Other milestones include the completion of the farm manager's house, a chicken coup, and a chicken abattoir.
